Recanati’s coins were classified for the first time in 1822 from Monaldo Leopardi. In this book appears a work that reconsiders the entire coinage of Recanati chronologically ordering it from the first issue, to be placed with precision, thanks to documents, to 1450 to continue sporadically for the rest of the century.
The coinage of Recanati is therefore placed in the context of the rich Marche coinage of the 15th century along with Ancona, Camerino, Fermo, Macerata and Ascoli.
